This forum area is here for you to show off your pictures. You can upload your snaps here if you want to. You are still welcome to upload images to other parts of the forum, but here it keeps everything all in one place a bit like an album.

Post forums in much the same way (you don't have to add an image to post in this forum room) & add your pictures, it sounds tricky but hopefully this will explain.

We can't (due to allowances on size) host many images on the forum directly by use of uploading them as attachments, so we would much prefer for you to go & host them yourself.. this isn't difficult & can be easily done without cost or loss of sleep by opening an account on Photobucket.com and/or Imageshack.us - which ever service you choose you can quickly reference the information needed below.

Make sure you have saved your image in a common file format such as *.jpg, *.gif, etc. If it is in a different format, scroll down this post to the Editing / Image format changing portion of the guide.

open a new tab/browser window for the Internet, go to either Photobucket.com or Imageshack.us. Once there choose whether you wish to create a free account (if you have not already done so) or log in to upload an image.

Photobucket http://www.photobucket.com
Once registered and signed in click 'Browse' and search for the file you wish to upload. Click Upload. You can also if you wish resize the image at the upload stage, ideally we would like a limit of size to 600x600 on the forum to keep the forums neat & to make browsing the site easier for those who visit.
After uploading you have four different link options underneath the uploaded image, the one you need to add an image to the forum is the IMG code:
IMG Code - this line is used for using your image in a post, this will make the image appear full size in your post & is the easiest way. Click the line & this should auto copy the code to your PC clipboard, then return to the forum & this then will allow you to paste the image.. where you paste the image is where the image will appear on the forum within your post.

ImageShack - http://imageshack.us
(i've copied & pasted this as i don't use imageshack & am not familiar with it)
Once registered (or not if you choose to go for an on-the-fly upload) click 'Upload Image' on the left under the Action heading and search for your desired file. If there is no other online modification to do click Upload.
Following the upload, click the small 'i' icon () next to the thumbnail of your newly uploaded image. In the dialog that appears you have similar options to that of Photobucket, the useful ones are as follows:
Forums - this line is used for using your image in a post and signatures, this will make the image appear full size in your reply and your signature block. Highlight the top line and copy that into your post or appropriate Profile field.

If you have an image already uploaded on your own webspace or another site
You may have your own website or you have chosen to upload some of your images to the bit of "free" webspace you get with your ISP account, if that is the case simply insert it's URL into a set of image tags,
like so: [img]URL[/img]
you can usually find the URL information by right clicking your image & selecting properties or if your browser allows by clicking the image & selecting "copy image location".
Please don't "hotlink" (posting from random sites without permission or using google images) any images from any site without the permission from the site owner or copyright holder.

Editing / Image format changing
We would prefer images to be resized to a maximum size of 600x600. if you need to change the format or to resize images before uploading to a photo site, we recommend the use of Irfanview - http://www.irfanview.com
With this utility you can also edit the format of your images or make any other changes such as minor tweaks to improvce the image quality or effect

Any further questions, please ask.

I don't know if it is me, but the PF Run seems to get worst every year (to much bunching of bikes).....:rolleyes:

Anyway the bike performed well, although it is not suited to that type of prolonged walking pace ridding, I had difficulty getting out of 1st gear most of the way around!!!!!!

I think the best type of transport for the run would be a 50cc twist & twat! at least my left hand wouldn't be feeling as numb as it is today after wresting with the Yams heavy clutch........

As most of you know, i'm heavily into Transformers & also Radio control car racing, so the time has come to combine the 2 hobbies a little.

I've been thinking for a while that i'd like to do an RC car shell in the same colours of one of the original toys.

The car i’ve chosen is my new ARE1 which i’m using as an outdoor / wet weather car.

The Criteria is…

* It has to be a Generation One Transformer
* Must be an accurate representation of a G1 toy.
* Autobot will take preference over Decepticon
* No “Bayformers” (transformer modes used in the Live action movie)

While looking for shells to use i have come across various shells but have discovered a Lamorghini Countach shell made by HPI.
http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=7496

This gave me a choice of many G1 Transformers,

* Sideswipe - Red (Autobot)
* Sunstreeker - Yellow (autobot)
* Breakdown - White/Red/Blue (Decepticon - stunticon)
* Red Alert - White/Red/ (Autobot)
* Deepcover, Clampdown & Tigertrack - (2003 recolours of the Sideswipe mould - released in Japan.)

there is also a rumour that in the sequel to the live action Movie, that a version of Hot Rod will be made as a Countach - however this is not G1, but a “bayformer” & is probably a rumour.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8376401@N07/848600678/

A plain colour was also out, although this wasn’t set in stone - simple reason being a plain colour is often difficult to see on a track (hence the reason many RC racers paint the front & rear of the car different colours or use flame effects to help identifiy direction.

In the end i settled on Red Alert - this is him in G1 toy form.

the other day i managed to track down a shell & here is the result

Here is the result I’ve left out some of the “fire department” part of the livery for the simple reason it would be dificult to stencil in & the best way to do it would be to get the graphics custom made at a sign writers.
this is it from the top & back..

... & no it doesn't turn into a robot!! (but give me some time on that one)

* Sideswipe - Red (Autobot)
* Sunstreeker - Yellow (autobot)
* Breakdown - White/Red/Blue (Decepticon - stunticon)
* Red Alert - White/Red/ (Autobot)
